Nail Polish Battle: Essie Trophy Wife vs. Zoya Akyra and China Glaze Knotty vs. China Glaze Stellar

I have another Nail Polish Battle for you guys today and this one has also two pairs of nail polishes competing: first pair is Essie Trophy Wife versus Zoya Akyra and the second one is two China Glaze polishes, Knotty versus Stellar. (You can read more general info about these nail battles in my first post of the series, here.)

So the first pair Essie Trophy Wife and Zoya Akyra look pretty much dupes in the bottles. Zoya has maybe a bit more of that duochrome feel in it in the bottle than Essie, but even before wearing them I'm guessing that it doesn't really show on nail. But let's see how they look on nail!

So yeah, no sign of that duochrome on nail... But they are still both quite pretty colors! Zoya seems to be a tad darker on nail, so they aren't really spot on dupes, but still very close, so I won't be needing both of them. Formulawise I prefered Essie here as it went on easily and covered with two coats. Zoya needed three coats for sull coverage and the formula was really runny, but still a bit thick somehow, so you needed to be extra careful while applying it. Colorwise I think I might prefer Trophy Wife just slightly as Akyra seems a tad too dark to me. So in the end this was quite easy decision eventhough in general I might prefer Zoya over Essie, but just a little.

Final verdict: Zoya leaves, Essie stays. 


Then the second pair is two China Glazes, Knotty and Stellar, who aren't really dupes in any way even judging from the bottles, but they still have the same feel and are maybe like sisters or cousins.

I don't know if it's too obvious in this picture, but Knotty isn't really made for me colorwise. It has too much yellow in it and so it doesn't suit my skintone at all! However, Stellar is really my kind of polish with that nudeish base and all that silver shimmer. So the basic components of these two polishes are pretty much the same, but one doesn't suit me at all and one looks really gorgeous on me. These are both a bit sheer ones, so for full coverage I needed three coats of each, though Knotty might have benefitted from one extra coat. 

 Final verdict: It's probably no surprise if say that Stellar stays and Knotty has to leave.
