I ♥ Leapord

Hi everyone.  Hope your week has been good so far.  I'm finally posting something I freehanded! I have become acutely aware over the last 2 weeks that, mostly due to time constraints, I have been doing all stamping manis.  So, when I had some time over the weekend, I pushed myself to do something freehand.  I'm so glad that I did, as I really loved these nails once I had finished them.

I started with 2 coats of La Femme - Lilac Cream, and 2 coats of La Femme - Ice Blue Cream on the ring fingers and thumb.  Then I added a coat of La Femme - Fairy Dust on all of the nails.  Once that was almost dry, I added the black outlines with black acrylic paint.  I drew the hearts first, then added the leopard spots around them.  Then I went in with the opposing colours and a dotting tool to fill them in.  After a little bit of drying time I added a coat of Seche Vite, and cleaned up my cuticles.

I don't really do enough freehand nail art at the moment, even though up until a few months ago, it was the only nail art I did!  From next Monday though, I will be taking part in a 33 day nail art challenge, and a few of the mani's I have planned for that are freehand, so you should start to see more of it on this blog.  There are a few techniques I will be trying for the first time too. Scary!  I'm looking forward to it a lot though, even if they turn out to be terrible : D

Close up of the the thumb so you can see the lovely sparkle of Fairy Dust - isn't it just perfect for this design?

Anyway, I would love to hear what you guys think of my first proper freehand post - should I just stick to stamping, or keep honing my freehand skills?
