The Tri- Polish Challenge: Day 8, Turquoise- White- Orange Gradient & Multicolored Glitter

Hello everyone!

Turquoise- White- Orange Gradient & Multicolored Glitter & Matte Top Coat

I started with white nails, and wanted the tip to be orange, and the other half of the nail turquoise, and tried to make a gradient towards the white center of the nail. Then I top coated, and added one coat of multicolored glitter, and top coated again. So I'll start with photos after top coat, then with matte top coat. And after the list of what I used, photos from how it was done.

With matte top coat:

Nail polish used:

IsaDora: #967 Clear 6-in-1 (base coat)
OPI: My Boyfriend Scales Walls (white)
H&M: Bella's Choice (turquoise)
Gosh: #570 Peachy (orange)
Seche Vite: Dry Fast (top coat)
Deborah Lippmann: Happy Birthday (clear base with multicolored glitter)
Poché: Super Fast Drying (top coat)
Gosh: #600 Matt Effect Top Coat

What I did:

As you see, I used different techniques this time, but I would never have managed to make a gradient if I hadn't seen this Gradient Nails Tutorial made by The Nailasaurus. And I just saw on facebook that it has it's 1 year anniversary today, so I felt I should mention it. It has been very helpful. I am so used to use her technique that I forget to give her credit any more. But I did, the first time I made a gradient.

Hyvää Vappua! (with Perfect S34 over China Glaze Keep Calm, Paint On) and some news

Iloista Vappua! Happy first of May (eve)! Vappu and the Vappu eve is quite a big celebration here in Finland (at least for students) and I've written some general info about it for example here, if you want to check out how some are celebrating it here in Finland. I don't really celebrate Vappu that much, we just watched a nice movie with my boyfriend and tomorrow we're going to make some really good food and maybe even some sugared doughnuts that are also part of the Vappu celebration here (as we have tomorrow is a holiday here in Finland). But basically we're just spending some quality time together..

For me Vappu is really colorful holiday, so I wanted to post a simple glitter layering manicure that I did recently, because I thought it would suit the holiday nicely.

So the glitter is Perfect number (S)34 and I used one coat of it over two coats of China Glaze Keep Calm, Paint On. The glitter is quite simple on with three different colors (green, blue and magenta) of bigger hexagonal glitters and two colors (green and blue) of smaller glitter, but it is nevertheless really pretty. The glitters came out easily from the bottle, but you need to do a little bit of placing if you want the glitter to spread evenly on nail.

I've bought this glitter from beautycosmetic.biz and they have a wide range of these Perfect glitters. I have couple more to show you later!

Mereneid Ridgefiller Base Coat
China Glaze Keep Calm, Paint On 2 coats
Perfect S34 1 coat
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri

Also, I have some great news! I posted this to Polish This! Facebook page already, but I thought I should post it here too:

Finnish online store Adenina was looking for some bloggers to do some cooperation with them, and they chose ten(ish) blogs for that and Polish This! is now one of them!

Adenina is a quite new online store, but I've already done couple orders from there and I can certainly recommend it! They ship very quickly and the customer service works really well. They already have polishes from different brands like China Glaze, Orly and a-england and they also have some nail art products too. And as you know, they are also already sponsoring my the giveaway in my blog with one a-england polish.

So if you're not familiar with the store, you should check it out:
http://www.adenina.fi/

(The site is unfortunately in Finnish only and I think they only ship to Finland)

*A* Aphrodite Lacquers [Indie Guide Project]

Hi Girls & Boys!
I'm so happy to be back with another Indie Brand !
Today I'm presenting you Rebecca. the maker of Aphrodite Lacquers !

Olá meninas & Meninos !!
Estou super feliz por hoje vos trazer mais uma marca Indie !
Hoje Apresento-vos a Rebecca, a criadora dos lindíssimos Aphrodite Lacquers!

* * *
For those who don't know what I am talking about (Follow me through Facebook to know a lot more!) I am making an Indie Guide A-Z! This will be a huge project and a enormous pleasure to do! So .. what am I going to do? Everyday, I'm going to show you a different brand of Indie Nail Polishes (and some of their major stockists too!! )
* * *

name:  Rebecca

brand name: Aphrodite Lacquers

from: Portland, OR

started: spring 2012

story behind the brand name: I wanted a name that made me think of pretty things, and beauty, and love for all that is feminine.

a special polish/collection: The Springtime in Paris collection is pretty special to me, it is the very first collection that i ever came up with. I kept putting off actually making it because i wanted it to perfectly match what i had envisioned.

addicted to polish before making polish: I was definitely polish addicted before i started making polish. Actually I have spent kind of an embarrassing amount of money on nail polish.

blog: No blog before or after. I wouldn't be a very good blogger. I'm kind of loner, and I keep to myself in my own little world.

favorite thing about making polishes: the creative part
least favorite thing about making polishes: the business part

a curious thing about a client: I have made a new bestie in the polish world after she purchased some of my polish and we started talking. She is the writer of the blog "The Obsessed", and we email each other like 5 times a day with nail polish world gossip, new colors, and good sales!!

something else I'd like to share: polish is my hobby, I actually have another job that I work a lot of hours at. most days I work 13 hour shifts at my other job. So I am actually pretty bad about keeping in touch with people and about answering my customers emails in a timely fashion. By the time I get a chance to sit down and answer emails on my first day off, there are like 50 emails to reply to that have built up in my inbox.... LOL so I guess I end up being kind of a polish recluse...

SuperNova
This is a gorgeous black gelish based glitter filled with pink and purple glitter. I applied two coats of supernova over Miyo Black. The glitters spread like butter and look amazing! I felt in love.  Lasted around 3 days.
