With the Flow with Mad as a Hatter

I'm not really a big fan of  Finnish brand Lumene when it comes to nail polish, mainly because I think their polishes are too expensive and the colors aren't very interesting. But when I was shopping couple days ago, I noticed that they had this new spring look -thing going on and there were four new polishes too and one of those was just calling my name so of course I had to get it.

So this is two coats of Lumene With the Flow (Hiljainen Virta) with OPI Mad as a Hatter on accent nail (two coats too). I have to say I really liked this Lumene, it was really pretty and well, there are quite many colors like it but it was a bit special, because it has this pink flash in it. I even managed to get a photo of it:

(You can click the picture to see it bigger and better). So this was really nice and the quality was also good as it always is with Lumene. Lumene just recently changed their polish line and I can't decide if I like these or the old Quick&Chic bottles best, though I always thought that the Quick&Chic name was quite stupid.. But I'm glad that they still have quite wide brush eventhough the bottle and the cap are a bit smaller.

GOSH Milky Way

It's sometimes really nice to wear some nude polishes between all the glitter and color and all that. So today I have one pretty nude for you.

This is GOSH Milky Way. It was quite impossible to get a good picture of this and well, I'm not very pleased with my pics. They show the base color of Milky Way quite nicely, but I didn't manage to get that nice magenta/pink flash to the pics. The flash makes this polish much more interesting, though the base color is really nice too. Though this was nice nude color by itself, I wanted to spice it up just a bit, so I added some water decals, which I got from Viva La Nails. I thought these were really pretty.. My mom saw these too and I had to do the same design for her too..

Here's Milky Way by herself, you can see a bit of that flash in the bottle if you look carefully. Funny how the inci list shows through the bottom of the bottle.. Anyways, this is three coats and it's quite sheer as you can see, but I don't mind as this is so light color.

OPI Too Hot Pink To Hold 'Em & China Glaze Ruby Pumps

I only got two polishes from OPI Texas collection and today I have the second one for you and this one is sorbet..

This is called Too Hot Pink To Hold 'Em and here I have three coats with base and top coat. To me this is more red than pink and I kind of wish that it was more pink like the name says. But it's a nice color. I don't have many jellies in my collection so this is a nice addition, even though OPI is saying the finish is called sorbet, I'd say this is pretty much a jelly. I'm not a huge fan of VNL and it was still visible after three coats, so I think I will layer this over white or something next time to get rid of that VNL.

I wanted to wear this longer, but didn't like the VNL, so I spiced it up a bit with China Glaze Ruby Pumps and some nail stickers:

I thought this mani looked cute and not too christmass-y, I was bit worried about that. I'm terrible at using nail stickers, because I always think that I should save them up for later and if I put stickers to each ten nails they will be gone too soon. I should probably realise that stickers are meant to be used and you can always buy new ones..

My life according to Google

I saw this on Nail Polish Obsession and thought it was fun. So before a real post later today, here's a fun tag:

To find out what your life is about, just substitute your name for the section that says [name]. Then you copy what the very first hit is NO CHEATING that takes all the fun out of it!! :D

1: Type in "[name] needs" in the Google search:
Annie needs to be rescued by the armed forces
But why?!

2: Type in "[name] looks like" in Google search:
Omg Annie Looks Like One Of Those Creepy Pageant Girls
I don't think this is really true, I'm not even sure if I would like it to be...

3: Type in "[name] hates" in Google search:
Annie hates gunshots
Well, who doesn't?

4: Type in "[name] goes" OR "[name] has gone" in Google search:
Annie Goes Boating
I really like boating, though I'm not sure it's possible right now as the lake is still covered in ice.

5: Type in "[name] loves" in Google search:
Annie loves basketball
Not really.. Though I was pretty good at it when I was in elementary school (I was taller than the others then, not anymore..)
6: Type in "[name] eats" in Google search:
Annie eats >> Making your days taste better
I'm not really sure how the fact that I eat something makes others days taste better. But if it's so, it must be a good thing.

7: Type in "[name] has" in Google search:
Annie has gone but her legacy and fighting spirit live on
Well, that's comforting...

8: Type in "[name] works" in Google search:
Annie works well at Tuacahn
Don't really know where/what this is, but it's always nice to work well..
9: Type in"[name] lives" in Google search:
Granny Annie lives in at the airport
Well, I do love airplanes, so maybe this is a future scenario?
10: Type in "[name] died" in Google search:
Annie died the other day
Hope that 'other day' doesn't come soon
11.Type in "[name] does" in Google search:
Annie does what honey don't
If 'honey' means my bf, then this is probably true, I have to do what he doesn't.. :D
12: Type in "[name] will" in Google search:
The Presiding Officer and Annie will also personally hand deliver letters from school children they visited in Malawi, to their new pen pals
This sounds quite nice thing to do.. Though I haven't been in Malawi yet..
13.Type in "[name] is" in Google search:
Annie is an old-fashioned term used in reference to a baseball "groupie"
This was really a new fact for me, quite fun though.. :D

This was fun! If you thought so too and do this, please let me know, so that I can check your answers.

Color Club Starry Temptress

Today I have three glitter neon polishes from Color Club new collection called Starry Temptress and also the glittery top coat that has the same name as the collection. At first I was going to order just one polish from this collection, as I'm not that into neons. But then the concept of neon & glitter started to interest me more and I also couldn't decide if I should order the darker or the lighter pink or purple. So I ordered all three of them.. And of course the glittery top coat as I can't resist anything that's good for layering..

So I have pics from all three by them selves and also with the Starry Temptress top coat. These were really nice quality, all are just two coats which is pretty good opacity for neon and still they have managed to do it so that the polish is sheer enough to show the glitter. So I'm glad I have these three, although I'm not really a neon person. And as for the other three from this collection, well they weren't really my kind of colors..

But let's take a look at the polishes shall we.

Here's Space Case, neon Barbie pink shimmer with silver glitter.

Space Case with Starry Temptress on top

Ultra-Astral, deep neon pink with silver glitter.

 Ultra-Astral with Starry Temptress

Wink, Wink, Twinkle, purple neon with silver glitter

Wink, Wink, Twinkle with Starry Temptress

Because these are neons, when they dry they are quite satiny looking, so you need to add a coat of top coat if you want them to be glossy and shiny. Also they are a bit bumby with all that glitter, so a coat of top coat takes care of that also. Starry Temptress top coat is also a bit bumby, so if you don't like that, you need to add a regular top coat over that too. But also because these are neons, they dry really fast, which is always nice. All and all I really liked these and can't decide which one is my favourite. I think it's a tie between Wink, Wink, Twinkle and Ultra-Astral.

Misa As Pink As You Please Covered in Diamonds

I really liked Color Club's Covered in Diamonds (eventhough it's gritty) so of course I had to use it again.

Here it is over Misa As Pink As You Please. I wanted to try it over lighter color so that it would give a little different look. I think with lighter base color it looks like even more like broken glass on my nails (like Amanda from Fiercely Fresh Fingertips commented on my previous CiD post). I really liked the look.

And here's As Pink As You Please by herself. This is three coats with base and top coat and there was still a bit VNL so this is quite sheer. This is really nice pink, but it was almost too barbie pink for me, with the purple/blue flash and all. But I liked it more with CiD on top. I know that some blogger don't really appreciate pinks but I have to say that I generally like pinks very much and I have quite few in my collection too.

Yes, I did it too..

Well, I thought I'd give it a try, so now you can follow me on Twitter, here. I'm still trying to get the hang of it, but I think it's going to be fun and a nice additional way of following me/my blog if you want to. It's of course mainly going to be about nail stuff, but I probably will include tweets about other stuff too. Hope to see you there! :)

Jesse's Girl Gunmetal

First of all, I have to thank you all as I now have over 200 followers! Wow, that's just awesome! Hope you all stick with me and enjoy my post as much as I enjoy making them.

Second, I've just finished writing my German paper of today's workinglife (I almost wrote Arbeitsleben here...), so if I mix German with English it's because of that my head is full of different languages..

Anywho, let's go to the polish. I have another Jesse's Gril polish for you today, this one is an older one.

This is called Gunmetal and I have four coats here, with base coat but no top coat. So this is quite sheer, but it might look good over some dark or grey polish, if you don't like doing multiple layers. Again, this was easy to work with, though the drying time was quite long (probably due to the multiple - though thin - layers), so I managed to smudge my pointer before these pics. Overall, nice color, but nothing unique.

China Glaze Pelican Grey & Starboard

Hope you all aren't fed up with China Glaze Anchors Away collection just yet, because I have two more to show you.

So the first one is Pelican Grey, I have two coats here, no base or top coat. This is really pretty but I had hard time photographing it. I actually have worn this and tried to take pictures of it three separate times. But the shimmer just didn't translate to my pictures. And I didn't want to show you just pictures without the shimmer, because that's is imo the best part of this polish, otherwise it would be just a regular grey. Though pretty grey, but the shimmer just makes it special. So with the third photograps I managed to get a bit of the shimmer to the pictures, so I can finally post this here too. But it's a pretty polish so I didn't mind wearing it several times and I'm surely gonna wear it again. It was a bit thick though, but nothing that couldn't be handeled.

And this one is called Starboard (where is port btw?), two coats here too, no base or top coat. My collection was missing a good honest green so I decided to give this a try and I think it might be just the right color. This was nice quality too, also a bit thick but again, nothing that couldn't be dealt with. I'm not still best friend with green polishes but sometimes you just need one for nail art or something like that and I think this will work nicely to that purpose, though it was a bit sheer for konading.

Rimmel Lemon Drop

It seems like lately all these scented polishes have been quite popular, so of course I had to give it a try too. I also did some konading, which is like the second time I did it and it shows. I do need to practise more.

This is three coats of Rimmel Lemon Drop and konading is done with OPI DS Reflection and China Glaze Starboard. Btw Starboard was a bit too sheer for stamping.. But I was quite surprised with Lemon Drop as it was quite easy to work with eventhough it's yellow and pastel and all that. And I have to say that it smelled quite nice too after it was dry. When it was wet it smelled like a regular polish and when dry it smelled like it's called, a bit lemon, though quite artificial but it was nothing bad.. But thank god it hadn't anything too with bananas, then I would have not gone anywhere near it.

Here's Lemon Drop by it self:

It's quite nice pastel yellow, but I didn't feel like it was for me by it self, so that's why I needed to have some konading over it. But it was nice quality and also it dried quite fast.

Jesse's Girl Spring Break

I have shown quite few shimmer/glitters/holos lately so I decided to use a creme for a change.

This is Jesse's Girl Spring Break, I have two coats here with base and top coat. So this is another nice polish from Jesse's Girl, good quality as usual and pretty shade too. Nothing unique, but a nice light purple creme that suits well for spring. Creme isn't my favourite finish but it's nice to sometimes wear one between all the glitters and shimmers.

I bought the polish from Jesse's Girl website, here.

GOSH Golden Dragon

Today I have a GOSH polish for you that I actually found on sale some time ago and I have to say that I'm really glad I did. Take a look:

So this is Golden Dragon and I have three coats here (and BC). This was fully opaque with two coats but I had to do a third one before taking the picture because of the tip wear. And I'm not saying that the wear time with this polish was bad, it really wasn't but I had time to take the pictures after I had had this on for several days and also during that time I had cleaned the house, washed the dog and my self couple times and also typed a lot. So the wear was quite good and after all that I had only minor tip wear, but I did the third coat to cover that up.. Anywho, this is really pretty color, don't you think? It sure is unique imo, I don't have anything like it. It really amazing blue/green with a lot of golden shimmer. Just look at the bottle in the second pic, awesome right?! And the quality in general was good too, so I have no complaints.

I bought the polish from a Finnish store (Sokos).

China Glaze BFF

I've posted about this polish once already, in fact it was the first polish that I showed you here in my blog. But I wanted to wear it again and took new photos too as I thought that I could do better with those pics now than almost a year ago. And I took quite few pics...

So this is of course China Glaze BFF, one of my all time favourite polishes. I have two coats here, with base coat but no top coat. This is truly a linear holo and very beautiful, I just love this. I know some say that these OMG collection polishes chip easily, but I haven't noticed anything like that. I've wore this and other polish from OMG collection (TTYL) few times with different base coats and the wear has been just perfect. Once I wore TTYL for six days and it was still perfect. So what can I say, I just wish (like many others) that I had more of these..
