Nail-Art-A-Go-Go - Day 3 - Warm vs. Cool

Hi guys, and welcome to Day 3 of the NAGG challenge.  The prompt for today is Warm vs Cool.  This prompt can be interpreted many ways, as any colour can be warm or cool, but I decided to keep things really simple with a cool blue and a warmer pink.

The base for this mani is OPI - Get Your Number, and I stamped with Kleancolor Metallic Pink and MoYou - Back to the 80's 03.  I didn't add a glossy top coat until after the stamping, so I will have a set of textured pictures further down too.
I wasn't too impressed with GYN at first - this is my first OPI Liquid Sand, and I think I was expecting to be a lot more sparkly than it was without top coat, but after I stamped I started to like it a bit more.  I definitely prefer it glossy though, the glitter is gorgeous, and I really love how it shows through the stamping, making the metallic pink look sparkly too :)
That's not to say that I didn't like the textured version though!
Simple or not, this mani made me smile, and that's the whole reason I like nail art in the first place :D
How about you guys, do you like this, or is it not really for you?
Make sure you have a mosey on around the thumbnails today, there are some fabulous colourful mani's on there already, and it's only 10.30am while I'm typing this post up!

Texture + Multichrome = ??Awesome??

Hi, me again!  Here are, as promised earlier, the results of my texture + multichrome = ??awesome?? experiment.  There are a fair few pictures for this too, so I'll put the rest after the jump like I usually do.

I decided to try it over 2 different textures; the left is a black 'sand' texture by Tribal from Born Pretty Store, and the right is one of those beaded textures by Seventeen, also in black.  I'm not a fan of this at all by itself, but it was useful to have one for this.  I used 2 coats of Birefringence over the textures when they were dry.
I like the way the 'sand' texture looks, I think it's awesome, but I'm really on the fence about the beaded one.  There's no doubt that this is the prettiest beaded texture I've ever seen, and I am kind of fascinated with how it looks, but can't really decide whether I like it or not.
What do you guys think - here's a closer shot of it to help you decide.
It kind of looks like some sort of magnificently colourful space debris landed on my nail!

FingerFood's Theme Buffet - Week 4 - Sparkle!

Hi guys, I'm back today with the 4th week of FingerFood's Theme Buffet, and the prompt for today is Sparkle!  I actually didn't finish this mani until this morning, I think this is the latest I have ever left a challenge mani since I started blogging :D

I didn't exactly plan to do such a girly mani today, but I really wanted to use W7 - Pink Mirror that I picked up a few days ago, so I just went with it.  I am really loving this polish, it's just as pretty as I hoped it would be.
I used 1 coat of Jess - Party Girl from Poundland over Pink Mirror, and then stamped with Barry M Silver Foil and MoYou Princess 13.  The accent nail is Rimmel Space Dust - Shooting Star and a holographic heart stud from this wheel.
This is the first time I have used this texture, and I am really liking it.  Looking forward to using it for a whole mani :)
I'd love to know what you guys think of this mani, and don't forget to check out everyone else's sparkly submissions via the thumbnails below - I have seen some really gorgeous mani's already today.

Saturday Spotlight - Rimmel:Space Dust Total Eclipse & Moonwalking

Hi guys, in this week's Spotlight post I have 2 of the textured Space Dust line by Rimmel to show you.  I'm really pleased that quite a few of the budget brands have jumped on the textured glitter bandwagon, I have really fallen for texture recently.
*Warning, this is a very picture-heavy post :)

This is Total Eclipse, 3 coats, no undies, and no top coat.  It is a black base with lots of green sparkle, and in the bottle the shimmer flashes to purple a lot.  It's not very visible in this picture, but I do have a macro shot, plus glossy pictures, to see if we can get it to show up :)

With top coat, this is quite a different polish.  In it's unmolested state, it looks like a very dark green overall, but add a bit of gloss, and it becomes a dark glossy back with lots of green sparkle.  I love this polish with and without top coat equally, I refuse to pick a favourite :)

And to answer the big money question, yes, you can just about see the duochrome sparkle, but only at extreme angles.  I am hoping to swatch this again in the summer though, I'm interested to see if a bit of sunshine will make any difference.

The other one I have to show you is Moon Walking, which is a super sparkly lilac texture, with silver micro and hex glitters.  This is 2 coats, no undies, no top coat.  I'm afraid I didn't get any photos with top coat for this shade, I loved it too much in it's textured state to wear it like that.

The formula for both of these shades was really easy to work with.  They required minimal clean-up, dried reasonably quickly, and covered evenly in 2 or 3 coats.  I actually have 2 other shades from this line, and really like them too, but that's for another Spotlight post.
What do you guys think of these polishes, yay or nay?  Do you have any of the Rimmel textures yourself?

You can get the Rimmel Space Dust range from Boots and Superdrug, online and in-store, they cost £3.99.

Sunday Spotlight: W7 - Gold Mirror & Blue Mirror

Hi guys, I'm back already with this weeks Sunday Spotlight, and the brand today is W7.  I have 2 polishes from the mirror collection to show you, with some blingy nail art to boot!
This will be a picture heavy post.

The first polish is Blue Mirror, shown here at 2 coats with topcoat. You may want to opt for 3 if you want total perfection, but as I was planning on using it as a base I didn't feel the need.  It does look very patchy on the first coat, but I found that with a gentle hand it seemed to spread a lot more evenly.  I adore this polish as a base in winter themed nail art, it's so pale and frosty.  You can get this, and gold mirror for £2.85 + free shipping on ebay here.
Then I did a tape mani, that was inspired by this mani by Misha from Enigmatic Rambles. I used a Barry M glitter that I got for free in Boots for spending £6 or more on Barry M on Boxing Day.  I quickly painted 2 coats of the glitter over the tape, and when I peeled up the tape, I liked the texture of the mani, so I skipped the top coat.
Even without top coat, this mani was extremely sparkly, so much more than you can see in the picture.  Please forgive the awful clean-up on this, it didn't look that bad in real life, I swear :)

The other shade I have to show you is Gold Mirror, and this polish has actually been featured in 2 very recent designs - the textured gradient tape mani I posted yesterday, and as undies in my sparkly leopard print mani, posted earlier today.  I guess it's safe to say it has become my go-to light gold base :)
This is also shown at 2 coats, with top coat.  Again, a 3rd may be preferable for some people, but I didn't feel the need myself.

I have heard that some W7's are a bit stinky, but I'm pleased to report that these smell like any other polish to me :)  What do you guys think of these 2 polishes?  Are you a fan of W7?
