My nails for the meeting

I'm just going to quickly post my nails for today's meeting before it starts, as I thought I might have quite a lot to post about after the meeting.. So here they are:

I did quite simple nails as I didn't have time to do anything too difficult. I used China Glaze Riveting for my index, middle and pinky nails and then did two accent nails for each hand (thumb and ring finger) by using Nubar Toga Purple as my base color and then usen China Glaze Riveting for the drag marbling.

I haven't done drag marbling for a while, but I really like how it looks and it's really easy way to get something extra for your manicure. So yeah, this is a really simple mani, but I like how it looks.

Lush Lacquer Purple Splash

I have quite many indie polishes in my untrieds right now because of the two orders that I've made earlier this year to Harlow & Co. and I have all those Shimmer polishes to try too. Also I have couple more KBShimmer polishes on their way to me and then of course several mainstream brand polishes in my untrieds too, so I'm having quite hard time choosing what to wear next, but I'm not definately complaining. Today I have the second Lush Lacquer polish to show you.

This one is Purple Splash and I have two coats here over one coat of Nubar Toga Purple. Purple Splash is has a purple jelly base with different sizes and shapes of white glitter and also tiny holographic glitter. The purple base itself is quite sheer, so I layered it over another purple to get it more opaque and to avoid using several coats of Purple Splash. This polish has me torn in two basically, because there are elements in the polish that I absolutely love, but then there are couple elements that I don't really like. I love the purple base and how it makes the polish look and the combination of purple and white, I also love the tiny holographic glitter combined with the small and medium sized white glitter. I even love those squared white glitters, but those overly big hexagons didn't really work for me and it was also quite hard to get them on nails. However, the one thing that ruins this polish for me is the bar glitter. I knew when I ordered this that this has bar glitter and I'm not always been the biggest fan of bar glitter, but somehow lately I've been liking some polishes that have had some bar glitter in them. So that's why I thought I might like this one, but for me there's just too much of those ugly bars in here.

If this didn't have that bar glitter in it, I would adore this so much and wouldn't even complain about those large hexagons, but like I said, with that much of bar glitter this just isn't working for me. Also as there are so large glitter pieces in this polish, they tend to sink to the bottom of the bottle, but that easy to solve by keeping the bottle upside down for a while.

Deborah Lippmann Let's Go Crazy

I have had this post sitting in my drafts for quite a long time, because I just wasn't too happy with these pics or at least they don't show the polish as well as I would like. But I decided to post this now anyway, as I don't want to just delete the pics, so here it is.

This is Deborah Lippmann Let's Go Crazy over Nubar Toga Purple. I really liked this combo, but it looks way too black in my pics. Also they beauty of Let's Go Crazy doesn't really show.. I definately need to wear this again, maybe over some lighter purple and perhaps then I will manage to take more accurate pictures too. At least you can probably see here how the jelly purple base in Let's Go Crazy gives the polish really nice depth when you layer two coats or more of the polish. That's probably the main reason I liked it so much. Also I don't have anything quite like this so I will definately keep this and wear it many times. Usually though these Deborah Lippmann polishes are a bit too expensive for my liking and my student budget, but I bought this one on sale before Christmas. It was still quite expensive, but it was kind of an early Christmas present to myself...

Day 31: Re-create your favourite challenge

So it's finally the end of the challenge for me! Today's task was a bit vague for me, but then I decided to done day 10 task of gradient nails with different twist. I've been seeing some great ombre manis lately and at least Sannu at SanNails and Deniz at Emerald Sparkled did some ombre nails for the day 10 of the challenge. So I wanted to also give it a try and desided to do a purple ombre, mainly because I have many purple polishes in my stash and I thought it would be most easy to find purples that would match for the mani. Well, even though I have so many purples it wasn't easy to find those perfect polishes for the ombre mani.. Anywho, here's my take on it:

Beginning from my pinky I used Nubar Toga Purple, OPI Pamplona Purple, Zoya Perrie and Orly Lollipop, each polish is two coats, no base or top coat. I think this is really a fun look and easy way to make more interesting mani than just the regular one with one color. Though you need to have quite many polishes in your stash to achieve that ombre look, at least I struggled a bit in finding the right polishes and when I was done with the mani, I thought I should have done even better job choosing those colors...

But that's it! The challenge is now over, just in time before I need to leave for my vacation. I had really great time with this and I also tried some things I think I might have not tried if there wasn't this challenge. So I have to say that I'm really glad I did this. I also have enjoyed very much seeing other bloggers do this challenge too. So if you're doing it or maybe just starting it, please let me know in the comments! :) I hope that you didn't get too bored because it took me quite long to finish this.. Now I just have to figure out how to paint my nails without someone telling me what to do, lol.
