IsaDora Spring Ray Of Light Collection: Swatches and Review

I have those IsaDora Ray Of Light spring collection swatches to show you guys today! I have quite a lot of pictures, because these pretties were quite hard to capture and I still think they do look better in real life than in any pictures. But before I show you those pics, I want to say quickly couple things, so I don't have to repeat them with all the polishes.

I did three coats of each polish and all the swatches are without base or top coat. These are quite sheer ones, so even with three coats there was still some visible nail line, but as these are so light colored, that didn't really bother me. Also the nail line looks stronger in the pictures than what it really was, as in real life these polishes reflect the light so well that you couldn't see that nail line so much. These were all had really nice formula and that IsaDora wide brush makes it a breeze to apply the polish. But now I'll let the pictures do the talking!

Dragonfly - light green pastel that IsaDora says has a touch of lime green.

Glorious - this would probably look really good with a darker or more tanned skin! IsaDora says this is a bit of champagne and peach in a mix, I'd say that sounds about right.

Halo - the white one with a neat little duochrome-ish touch. IsaDora says this is a soft shimmerling white.

Opaline - really sweet light pink pastel that IsaDora describes aptly as soft, light pink.

Ray Of Light - the namesake of the collection, this one leans just slightly towards purple, and as IsaDora says it, this has luminous light purple pigments.

I also thought these might look nice layered over some other color. First I tried them over white, but they all basically look the same, really pretty but really similar. Over black they look like this:
From left to right these are Dragonfly, Halo, Glorious, Opaline and Ray Of Light. Here you can see maybe a bit better that at least three of the colors (Dragonfly, Halo and Ray Of Light) have a slight color shift.

It was really hard to choose a favourite from this collection as they really are quite similar. I'd say my favourites are probably Halo and Opaline, just because they suited my skintone the best and I loved that little color shift in Halo. These are all really great ones and you can't honestly go wrong which ever you choose from these.

The bottom line is though that these are also so very similar, so you don't really need them all. The best way to choose is probably to pick the one or two that you think will suit your skintone the best. Also, I just want to remind you that the glow in these doesn't really translate to pictures, so you should definately go check these out in a store if you can!

*I have gotten these polishes for review. For more information see my disclosure policy.

Tänään esittelyssä IsaDoran keväisen Ray Of Light kokoelman kaikki viisi lakkaa.

Ainakin Sokoksiin on jo IsaDoran kevätkokoelmat tulleet.

*Lakat on saatu arvioitaviksi.

New from IsaDora and Sally Hansen plus a little haul from BeautyJoint

***Don't forget to participate in my Essie giveaway, it ends tomorrow!***

It's still quite cold and wintry here, but yet there seems to be growing number of spring colors making their way to the stores already. I just got some new spring polishes from IsaDora and Sally Hansen for review and since I haven't seen yet seen too much of either of these around, I thought I'd share some bottle pictures with you guys. Also, I included a little haul that I made from BeautyJoint at the end of this post. But first, let's start with those IsaDora polishes.

So these five polishes from IsaDora's spring collection called Ray Of Light are (from left to right): Dragonfly (777), Halo (778), Glorious (779), Opaline (780) and Ray Of Light (781).

The colors are really delicate and springlike pastels. IsaDora describes these as glowing iridescent, light pastel shades that contain exclusive luminous pigments. These do have a gorgeous shine and glimmer in them, but the do look a bit pearly in the bottles, so we'll see how they will look on nail. I will do swatches of all of these as soon as possible.

Dragonfly and Halo look bretty similar in the bottle. I'd say Dragonfly has more like a very light green base whereas Halo is white base with some pink hues.

Glorious is described as mix of champagne and peach, again quite soft shade as all of these. Opaline is soft light pink and Ray Of Light is leaning towards very light purple.

I'm really interested to see how these all will look on nail and how those luminous pigments will come to life.

I also received six Sally Hansen Satin Glam polishes to try. There are total of eight polishes in this line, so I have all but Metal Iced and Sun Sheen.
These dry on nail to a satin finish, which basically means that they have that matte finish with a lot of shimmer. These are from left to right: Go Gold (01), Crystalline (02), Chic Pink (05), Teal Tulle (06), Taffeta (07) and Silk Onyx (08). I'm really eager to see how these will look on nail as you can't really tell that based on the bottles only. I'll swatch these too as soon as possible.

Judging from the bottles I'd say Go Gold, Crystalline and Silk Onyx might be the ones that I would like the most, but we'll see how these look on nail!

Like I said, I also made a little haul from BeautyJoint.com. This was my first time bying anything from there and based on this one order, I'd say that I was quite impressed by the place. My package arrived really quickly, I don't think I've ever gotten a parcel quicker from the US. Also the shipping costs were very reasonable, you can pay using Paypal and they sell some brands that may be harder to buy here (like Milani or L.A. Girl).

I bought the two polishes I really wanted from China Glaze Sea Goddess collection: Wish On A Starfish and Seahorsin' Around.

These both look so gorgeous in the bottle, I can't wait to try them out!

I also wanted for a while to get some of those L.A. Girl Splatter polishes, so I included three of those to my order.
These are called Splash, Splat and Spatter. Those names are really confusing, it's impossible to remember which one is which! But other than that these look really awesome! I just have to figure out some neat colors to use these with.

Sain IsaDoran ja Sally Hansenin maahantuojalta eilen postissa molempien sarjojen kevätuutuuksia ja ajattelin näyttää teille hieman pullokuvia ennen kuin saan kunnolliset swatchit tehtyä näistä kaikista lakoista.

IsaDoran Ray Of Light kevätkokoelmaan kuulu viisi valoa hehkuvaa pastellisävyä: Dragonfly (777), Halo (778), Glorious (779), Opaline (780) and Ray Of Light (781).

Sally Hansenin Satin Glam kokoelmaan kuulu yhteensä kahdeksan lakkaa, joista sain testiin kuusi sävyä: Go Gold (01), Crystalline (02), Chic Pink (05), Teal Tulle (06), Taffeta (07) and Silk Onyx (08).

Milani ja L.A. Girl). Omaan tilaukseeni otin kaksi lakkaa China Glazen Sea Goddess kokoelmasta ja kolme L.A. Girlin Splatter glitteriä.

***Muistakaahan myös osallistua Essie arvontaan! Arvonta päättyy huomenna.***

Essie Parka Perfect and Hors D'oeuvres

I have already shown you my swatches of the Essie winter 2013 collection, but I loved all those polishes so much that I just needed to do some manicures with them too. Today I'm showing you the simple but pretty manicure that I did with Parka Perfect (from the winter collection) and Hors D'oeuvres (from the holiday collection).

I started this mani with two coats of Essie Parka Perfect (and of course one coat of base coat under it). It is really soooo gorgeous dusty grey and it really applies like a dream. But I don't probably have to tell you how much I love it as I already chose Parka Perfect as one of my 2013 favourite polishes... Over Parka Perfect I added some Hors D'oeuvres with a make-up sponge and then I finished the mani with a coat of top coat.

I think these two polishes worked really well as a pair and I really like how they look together. Really easy and simple manicure, but also quite gorgeous!

Don't forget that you have the chance to win the whole Essie winter collection in my giveaway! Just click here for more information.

Muistaakahan käydä osallistumassa arvontaani, jossa voitte voittaa itsellenne koko Essien talvikokoelman.

*Essien Parka Perfect on saatu alunperin arvioitavaksi.

Essie Virgin Orchid with ILNP Sugar Blossom, Serum No 5 Fame and Water Decals

I made this manicure over month ago, but for some reason I haven't never posted it. I think it's about time to get this one out too, so here it comes.

I started this mani with three coats of Essie Virgin Orchid and then I topped that with one coat of I Love Nail Polish Sugar Blossom and one coat of Serum No 5 Fame. Finally I added some water decals on my ring and pinky nails.

I'm not really sure why I haven't posted this before... This isn't the most innovative manicure out there, but I still thought it was quite nice and simple mani.

Though I'm not sure if those water decals were really the best idea. I think I might have liked the look more without them:
Essie Virgin Orhic is a bit of grandma type of color but I still liked the polish very much and I love that gold shimmer. ILNP Sugar Blossom is really amazing glitter topper! I only have the ultra mini bottle of this one though... I really wish I'd have the full size version. I'm not too sure if I like Serum No 5 Fame here or if it's even in general right topper for me.

For ones I remembered to take a picture of all the polishes and the decals I used!

Käytin tähän siis Essien Virgin Orchid lakkaa, jonka päälle kerrostin yhdet kerrokset sekä I Love Nail Polish Sugar Blossomia että Serum No 5:n Famea.

Merry Christmas

Hello lovelies!! I'm a little late posting today, but right after finishing these this morning I had to immediately leave. How immediate? Immediate like I was terrified I was going to smudge them while getting dressed - thank goodness for my trusty Seche Vite top coat! The chance of smudging made me snap a few quick pics and then I was out the door. I just now settled down to watch some Christmas Doctor Who (goodbye, Doctor #11 ♥♥) and realized I never got around to taking the pics off my camera. So, here's my Christmas mani ... late but at least it's still Christmas. :)

I wanted a mani that I could wear after Christmas. Once Christmas is over I want Christmas over so I went simple - more winter than truly Christmas. I started with 3 coats of CQ Pearls and then topped it with 2 coats of Firefly from Hell.

If you'll remember Firefly from Hell was the glow-in-the-dark glitter topper from my Halloween collection. There are still a few of these glow polishes left if anyone wants one; you can get them on sale for $6 in my Storenvy shop. :) I adore how the stamped snowflakes still show up in the dark!!

I think I'm getting better at this whole stamping thing!! These snowflakes were done in mere moments (with China Glaze Blue Bells Ring) as I was in such a hurry and they're almost all there - only a few smudges and missing lines. And, as you can see, I also added a pearl to the center of the large snowflake on my ring fingernails. I think it added a slightly elegant, dressy touch.

So, how was your holiday? Do anything special? Wear anything special on your nails? How about gifts?? Did you get everything you asked Santa for? :)

Until next time,
-Ashley

31DC13 Day 21: Inspired by a Color

Hi guys! I'm sorry I have been quiet for a while. My vacation went really great, but of course I managed to get sick right after it... And I've been really busy with everything, but now I'm well again and in full strength to do some serious posting. I have quite many posts that I want to get done before Christmas, so stay tuned! I'll also have something quite nice in store for you guys too...

I was hoping to get the challenge finished by Christmas but because of my vacation and me being sick and all that, that doesn't really seem possible now. Well, that alright, I just have to continue this one after Christmas. But I do have at least today's task done! So it's time for the inspiration part of the challenge and today was about being inspired by a color. Because the Christmas is so near, I wanted to do something christmassy, so I decided to be inspired by red.

I got the idea for these nails from this OPI Holiday mani tutorial and from Sonnela as she had done really gorgeous nails using the same tutorial. I started the mani with two coats of China Glaze Elfin' Around. Then I painted parts of my ring and index finger as the OPI tutorial suggested, though I used OPI The Show Must Go On and then placed the glitters from OPI I Snow You Love Me.

I really loved how this mani turned out, it looks really classy and also very appropriate for the holidays.

Lakkoina kynsissä käytin China Glazen Elfin' Aroundia, OPIn The Show Must Go Onia ja OPIn I Snow You Love Me:ta.

Zoya Zenith Collection: Cassedy, Dream, Payton and Seraphina

This is a scheduled post as Im currently (hopefully) enjoying a little vacation. I'll answer your comments as soon as I get back, so feel free to comment as much as you want.

I have four Zoya Zenith collection polishes to show you guys today!

I got these four for review from NailCity and these were the ones that interested me most from this Zoya holiday collection. These are of course from left to right Seraphina, Cassedy, Dream and Payton.

I used two coats of each polish for these pictures, no base or top coat.

First one is Cassedy and this one was almost one coater, but I did two just to be safe. Cassedy is a metallic pewter and the formula was really nice, so this was very easy to apply. I really like the metallic look of this one!

Next one is Dream, a deep blue scattered holo. This is absolutely my favorite one from this collection and it's also probably one of my all time favorite polishes! If you are only going to get one polish from this collection, get this!

This one is called Payton and it's a dark purple scattered holo with a jelly base. This one is also a really gorgeous one! There were still some spots that might have needed more polish, so I think you'll be safe with three coats with this polish.

Last one is called Seraphina, which is a silver metallic shimmer with a hint of grey. I really liked this one too, though also with this you could need another coat to get full coverage. I love the icy metallic look of this one and the fact that it's metallic silver but it's not a foil.

*I have gotten the four Zoya polishes in this post for review, for more information see my disclosure policy.

*Postauksen lakat on saatu arvioitaviksi.
