Nail-Art-A-Go-Go - Day 12 - Camouflage

Hi guys, and welcome to Day 12 of the NAGG challenge!  I can't believe we're nearly half way through already :)  Today's prompt is camouflage, and this is a style of nail art I hadn't gotten around to trying before this mani.  I kept meaning to, but there's always so many other things I want to try, and I never seem to keep track of them all.  Anybody else get like that?

So, I decided to got with what is probably one of my favourite colour schemes ever, neon pink + purple, and black.  :)  The purple is Color Club - Mrs Robinson, the pink is BYS - Pink Panic, and the black is Sinful Colors - Black on Black.
My skin is looking a little odd in these photos, so sorry about that, but my camera seems to be allergic to Mrs Robinson, so I had to make a lot of adjustments to get a more colour accurate shot.
I think I still need to work on my camo nail art, maybe try a dotting tool instead of a brush next time, but I still liked this mani, especially the matte version.  I can't resist a matte neon!
That's all from me today, but don't forget to check out the other camo mani's for today, and I will see you tomorrow gorgeous people :D

Nail-Art-A-Go-Go - Day 6 - Neon

Hi guys, and welcome to Day 6 of the NAGG challenge.  The prompt for today is neon, which gave me a chance to do an idea I've had in my head for a while now - a tape mani starring Indy's Indies - Rocket :D

I started with a base of Sinful - Snow Me White, and added 1 coat of Rocket on the index and pinky finger.  The tape mani was filled in with BYS - Pink Panic, Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Brisk Blue, and Maybelline Colour Show - Green Zing.  The green was a bit of a pig to work with to be honest, even over a white base, it still took 3 coats to get the colour anywhere near even.  That alone, wouldn't have been too bad, but when I top coated the ring finger the green bled all over the place.  I gave the other ones at least an hours drying time before top coating them, but it still bled, just not quite as much.  Luckily, I only paid 60p for it from Fragrance Direct, so I'm more disappointed about ruining this mani, than wasting my money!
By the time I had finished this mani, I was kind of annoyed with it, and couldn't be bothered to clean up properly, so please forgive the green stuck to the side of my middle finger - I promise it's polish, not a bogey XD  I still think it's a pretty cool mani though, so I decided to stick with it for today.

All issues aside, what do you guys think of this mani?  Has it brightened your day with it's neon-ey goodness?  Doesn't rocket look awesome over white!?
Don't forget to check out the other neon mani's in the thumbnails below :)

#33DC - Day 28 - Lines

Hi guys, sorry today's post is a little bit late, but I'm back with Day 28 of the #33DC and the prompt for today is lines.  This is another mani I have had planned out in my head for ages, but when it came time to actually sit down and do it, I had a different idea that I liked more.

For the thumb, pointer and pinky nails, I applied 2 coats of Nails Inc - New York Noir, then 1 thick coat of Pocket Money Polishes - I Want Candy, concentrating mostly on just 1 side of the nail.  Once that had some drying time, I used some black acrylic paint to create straight edges on either side of the glitter and top coated.
For the middle and ring finger, I painted a white base, and picked out polishes from my stash to match the colours in the glitter.  These were: BYS - Pink Panic, Barry M - Yellow Green, Rimmel I ♥ Lasting Finish - Sunshine, Rimmel I ♥ Lasting Finish - Double Decker Red, and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Brisk Blue.  Using a striping brush, I filled in the whole nail with random stripes in these colours, top coated, and waited for them to dry.  When they were dry, I applied striping tape in random places across the nail, and painted 1 thick coat of New York Noir over the top.  I kind of messed up on the ring finger and forgot what order I put the tape down in, but never mind : )
I loved this mani, and I'm really glad I decided to change my mind at the last minute as I like this more than my original idea.  It did bug me a bit that I forgot to go in and wrap my tips with black after pulling the tape up though.

#33DC - Day 20 - A pattern from your wardrobe

Hi guys, I'm back today with Day 20 of the #33DC, and the prompt for today is a pattern from your wardrobe.  This was one of the mani's I have had planned from the moment I read the prompt.  I had recently bought some awesome leopard print leggings, but they were a bit too tight for me so I haven't actually worn them yet......at least I get to rock them on my fingers for now : D

These are the leggings, I bought them from ebay here for £5, which is a bargain if you ask me!
This was a really easy mani to do, I just sponged on Laval - Ultra Violet, Barry M - Guava, and BYS - Pink Panic in random places over a white base, stamped the leopard print from Cheeky plate CH2, and mattified it all once dry to make it look more like fabric.
Obligatory shot with the actual leggings - sorry it's a little blurry, I had nothing to lean my camera arm on for this shot.
I'd love to hear what you guys think of this!  Do you prefer it as a mani, rather than on leggings, or do you think those leggings are badass? Don't worry about offending me - I know they're not for everyone : D

#33DC - Day 9 - Indian

Hiya lovely people - happy Friday!  I'm back for Day 9 of the #33DC, and the prompt for today is Indian.  I had a really nice mani planned for this which included some nail stickers and stamping, but when I went to apply the stickers, they were rubbish.  They kept tearing at the slightest tug, so I binned them, and decided to just go with the stamping on all the nails.  Unfortunately, I must have been really off my game by then, as I couldn't get on with that stamping image either, so in the end I chose this.

I was looking at Indian fabric patterns for inspiration, and I noticed a lot of them with circles, and repetitive patterns, so I went with this image from PUEEN49, and took the colour combo from a different piece of fabric.  The polishes I used are BYS - Mosaic Plum, and I stamped using Barry M Gold Foil.  I was so gutted that my original idea went so badly wrong, as I think it would have looked great, but I suppose you can't win them all!  Hopefully, next week will be better for me.  I've got some cool mani's planned, and I have a couple of days break from the workmen in the house over the weekend, although the entire contents of my kitchen are still residing in the sitting room!  Wish me luck!

Funky Monsters

*All products in this post were purchased with my own money.
Ever since I got my Cheeky Summer 2013 collection plates, I've been trying to decide what colour to stamp these little fella's over to no avail.  In the end I just picked 5 random bold colours from my stash and went to town : )

Polishes used in this mani: OPI - Nail Envy Matte, Barry M - Blue Grape, Revlon Top Speed - Electric, Barry M - Guava, P.I.A - 12, BYS - Ultra Violet, Konad Special Polish - Black and Seche Vite.

I want to use this image again when my nails are longer, because as you can see from the (rather streaky) image plate below, there's quite a lot of this design that won't fit on my little nails.

I had a little mishap with my thumb, but it was late, and I couldn't really be bothered to redo it so it's a little smushed in one corner, but I'll post a pic of it anyway at the bottom, as it's the only nail big enough to take a fair amount of the design.  It's great that they made the images bigger, but it would have been even better if they added to the image instead of just stretching it!

I still can't really decide if I liked this or not, but I really want to try this again with 5 neon colours. What do you think?
