Texture + Multichrome = ??Awesome??

Hi, me again!  Here are, as promised earlier, the results of my texture + multichrome = ??awesome?? experiment.  There are a fair few pictures for this too, so I'll put the rest after the jump like I usually do.



I decided to try it over 2 different textures; the left is a black 'sand' texture by Tribal from Born Pretty Store, and the right is one of those beaded textures by Seventeen, also in black.  I'm not a fan of this at all by itself, but it was useful to have one for this.  I used 2 coats of Birefringence over the textures when they were dry.
I like the way the 'sand' texture looks, I think it's awesome, but I'm really on the fence about the beaded one.  There's no doubt that this is the prettiest beaded texture I've ever seen, and I am kind of fascinated with how it looks, but can't really decide whether I like it or not.
What do you guys think - here's a closer shot of it to help you decide.
It kind of looks like some sort of magnificently colourful space debris landed on my nail!

I Love Nail Polish - Birefringence

 Hi guys! Yesterday, I promised you something pretty, and since I don't like to disappoint, I figured it would be the perfect time to post my swatches of I Love Nail Polish -Birefringence.  No doubt most of you have already seen this polish a few times already, but hopefully you don't mind seeing it again :) If, by some chance, this polish has not yet graced your screen, I will advise you to take a seat before we jump in to the rest of the photos.  (There's a LOT of them! )



Birefringence is a multi-chrome shifter that shifts through blue, purple, pink/red, oranges, yellows, with a hint of greens at extreme angles.  In these photos, I am wearing 2 coats over a black base on all but my ring finger which is 3 coats, no undies.  As you will see, the black base is not necessary, but I wanted to smooth out the surface of my nail anyway, so I figured I might as well use black.
I have a slight bump on my ring finger, and you will see that it does affect the shift a little bit, so I would advise using a ridge filler or cream polish underneath if your nails are not very smooth.
Since I have so many photos of this, I'm going to shut up, and just let them do the talking :)
OK, maybe that was a little excessive, but I promise, I deleted loads more than these.  It's just so pretty! I purchased this directly from the ILNP website here.  I bought this and the holo version of Cygnus Loop as a Christmas gift to myself, and including shipping to the UK, I think I paid roughly around £24.  You guys know that I don't often spend that much on a bottle of polish, but I feel it was worth every single penny, and I'm so glad I decided to go for it :D

PS. that little bump in my ring finger got me wondering what would happen if you layered this over a textured polish, so I did a little experiment later that day.  As this post is already huge, I will be posting the results later today.

Revlon Chroma-Chameleon - Aquamarine

Hi guys, today I have a gorgeous duochrome polish to show you by Revlon.  When I went shopping on Boxing Day, I managed to find 3 of this line in Poundland so these were a total bargain too.  Be warned, this is a very picture heavy post.



I swatched all of them onto a false nail when I got back that day, and this one seemed pretty sheer, so I am wearing 2 coats of Aquamarine over a black base in these photos.  This is a aqua blue that shifts to purple.  At some angles it looks a little more teal, but I found that the aqua blue was the most prominent colour, closely followed by purple.
As you can see, the colour shift is pretty strong on this one, although that little shift of gold and pink in the bottle is a cruel tease - I couldn't see either of those colours in real life.  Anyway, I shall let the pictures do the rest of the talking.
 What do you guys think of this polish?  I think it's good to see mainstream brands getting some good colour-shifters, but I am yet to see them do anything as impressive as the indie multichromes we've been spoilt with recently.  For a £1 though, this is like magic :D
