For those who don't know what I am talking about (Follow me through Facebook to know a lot more!) I am making an Indie Guide A-Z! This will be a huge project and a enormous pleasure to do! So .. what am I going to do? Everyday, I'm going to show you a different brand of Indie Nail Polishes (and some of their major stockists too!! )
* * *

Your Name: Charlotte Kastling

Brand Name: WellNails

Where are you from? A small country called Denmark. It's in Europe, right in the middle of Sweden and England.

When have you started? October 2012

Is there  a story behind the name of your brand? I wanted the name to be something creative, and the polishes to have an exclusive feeling about them. I always get such a good feeling of self-indulgence when I've got my nails done. So I thought of WellNails as a wordplay on 'wellness'. I was around other ideas, but it stuck to me. And so I'm trying to make my customers feel like they get exactly that - wellness for their nails, like my slogan says.

How many polishes/collections have you created? One collection that's growing and growing. Right now there's 27 shades available, but I have oh sooo many on the testing shelf right now.

Is there a special polish/collection? Why? Yes. As mentioned I only got one collection so far. The 'How I Met Your Mother'-collection. I have a serious dependency of that series and I watch it A.Lot! So the idea of getting inspired by it came quite naturally. Also I love the idea that all my little polishes have a history. The names and colors can be traced when you're watching the show, and I think that gives them more of an edge.

Where you a polish addicted before starting making polishes? Lil' bit, yeah. I started becoming a serious polish addict in 2010, when I lived in England. Them British gals do care about their nail polish. And since 2011 I've written a Danish blog called http://polish4passion.dk

Did you have a blog before making polishes or have you started one after? I had one, as just mentioned. But I'm also telling the stories of my polishes on http://wellnails.dk

Whats your favorite thing about making polishes? The finding-what-glitters-to-mix-part, I think. I can lay awake at night thinking about a new shade and then I rush to sleep so that I can wake up early and start mixing. It's taking up all of my time! But I think the crutial thing is when I get responses from people that have tried them on. That really makes my day shine!

Can you tell us a curious thing that has happened to you with some client or something funny? I got kinda sad when someone says: I like your polishes, but I think the shipping prices are too high. Because I can't really do anything about that, and since I'm shipping from Denmark it's expensive to ship outside of Europe. But hey, it's the same when it's the other way around ;)

Is there anything you'd Like to share: I'm just overwhelmed with the attention my brand is getting at the moment. I'm so happy that people seem to like what I'm doing, and I really hope that I'll be able to continue doing it for a long time, even though it's hard right now.

Oh, Honey..!

This polish is a stunning gelish red polish with red and black glitter. I used no base color and it took 3 thin coats for full opacity. I applies very nicely and the glitters spread evenly. Drying time was quite fast, around 6 mins and lasted for 3 days. I loved the outcome! Check for yourself and let me know if you like it!
Adorei o resultado. E voces, o que acharam?

My Stash: Indie brands, Essie, Color Club, Misa and more

I have the third stash post for you today! In this one I'll show you the third drawer of my Helmer, which has quite many brands in it. I have all my indie polishes in the third drawer as well as all my Essie, Color Club, Misa, American Apparel, Nubar, Kiko, Perfect, Hits, Depend and some other brands too. If you missed the first and second stash post, you can check them here and here. (The first one has also some general info about my stash if you're interested.)

But here's how the third drawer looks like:
So as you can see, this has a bit more of mixed brands than the first two drawers I've shown you. However, I think I need to do some changes soon, as I've been lately more into all the indie polishes and they will soon run out of room here, so I probably have move some polishes around. Also, it might make more sense to have all my a-england polishes here with the indie ones, as they could be also considered (at least somewhat) indie. Anyhow, this is the current situation, so let's see all the polishes, right?!

So let's start with the indie polishes and first off are all my Shimmer Polish lacquers: Candace, Mary, Lucie, Irene and Maria.

More Shimmer Polish lacquers: Nichole, Leslie, Jasmine, Sarah and Julie.

Then all my KBShimmer polishes: Bejeweled, Orange Pop, Diva, Proud Peacock, I Got A Crush On Blue and Iris My Case.

Then I have two WellNails polishes: Nothing symbolic about that... and Christmassy Winter Wonderland, two Lush Lacquer polishes: Mr. Bubble and Seas The Moment, one Rainbow Honey called Sweet Talk and two Pretty Serious polishes: Mummy Mush and Gargoyle Ganache.

Next off are all my Essie polishes: Shine of the Times, Mint Candy Apple, Orange It's Obvious, Lights and Leading Lady.

Essies continue: Action, Guilty Pleasures, Muchi Muchi and Demure Vixen.

I also have the Madison Ave-hue collection that actually isn't in the drawer as they came in the cute box, that doesn't really fit to the drawer, so I'm not still sure where I'll keep them, but anyhow these are: Madison-Avehue, Avenue Maintain, Go Ginza, Maximillian Strasse Her, Bond With Whomever and Hip-Anema.

Then all the Color Club polishes: Starry Temptress Topcoat, Halo-graphic, Blue Heaven, Angel Kiss, Cherubic and Eternal Beauty.

All the rest of the Color Clubs: Beyond The Mistletoe, Gingerbread, Sugarplum Fairy, Cold Metal, Fashion Addict and Wild at Heart.

Next off are all my Misas (I don't know why I have only four of these as I quite like the brand): Greay Matters, Genie in This Bottle,Taking Chances and Live Without Knowing.

Then here's all my Kiko polishes (I wish I had more of these too, well actually, I just got two more of those Sugar Mat polishes, but they weren't here when I took these pics, so I'll show them in a haul post later): Sparkle Touch Multicolour Glitter Ivory (229), Purple Microglitter (255), Sugar Mat Mint (636), Sugar Mat Poppy Red (640), Sugar Mat Strawberry Pink (641), Sugar Mat Burgundy (645).

Then I have four Glitter Gal polishes (I think these have gotten some new and more interesting names, but mine are so old that these have the "boring" names): Copper/3D Holo, Silver 3D/Holo, Black 3D/Holo and Red 3D/Holo.

I also have four Nubar polishes: White Polka Dot, Reclaim, Purple Rain Glitter and Toga Purple.

Then here is my American Apparel polishes: Dance, L'Esprit, Lopez Canyon and Dynasty.

AA continues: Supernova, Violet Panache, Moonlight Beach and Manhattan Beach.

I have also have few Depend polishes, these are really small and cute, but unfortunately these only have numbers: 105, 170, 218, 222, 251, 227, 135, 313 and 351.

I have these five Hits polishes, the first two are from Phenomena collection: Moonbow and Air Glow, then the other three are from Speciallita collection: Apolo, Zeus and Ares. The last one is a brand called Up Colors and the polish is called Azul Arco-Iris.

Then I have these six polishes that are from different brands, but to me they are somewhat special. These are MAC Whirlwind, L'Oreal Confettis, Max Factor Fantasy Fire, Ciaté Pepperminty, Ciate mini Vintage, Layla Ceramic Effect CE52.

And last I have these Perfect glitter (and one metal) polishes (these have again only numbers): S37, S34, S36, S41 and K33.

So, which ones were your favourites? Anything you'd like to own?
Hope you enjoyed this yet another stash post, I have still one left later!

WellNails Nothing Symbolic About That...

As I said in my previous post, I got two lovely indie polishes from WellNails and today I have the second one for you guys.

This one is called Nothing Symbolic About That and it's a mix of white, black and orange glitter in several shapes and sizes. I think this is really a fun polish and I don't have anything like it as I don't own any other indie polishes. I know there are probably many like this, but I don't remember seeing one that would be exatly the same. Anywho, this is really fun to play with and I wanted to try it with different base colors. In the first pic I wore it with Misa Grey Matters. I thought this was a great combo and it really made the orange bits pop out. However, I was a bit unlucky with this my tries to wear this polish as with this first combo I did, I got quite a few bubbles. It wasn't because of my base color or the WellNails polish, I really blame it on my top coat INM Out The Door as it is almost empty and it's gotten a bit thick, so I sould have used something else.

After the first try I wanted to use some other base color and tried NSAT with OPI My Very First Knockwurst. I really liked this combo too, I think it made the white and black glitter to show up more. But then, I had a little accident with this too, as you see if you look closely to my index finger nails. I had a little tear in it, but when I was putting the layndry to the washing machine I somehow manage to break almost the whole nail. And this was of course before I had taken any pics of this mani. Well, thankfully it didn't break all the way trough so I think with some tee bags and nail glue I can still fix it so that I can grow the nail a bit, because I really don't want to cut it so short. And I don't like it if I have like one really short nails and other ones that are quite long, so then I should cut them all and I really don't want to do that..

But yeah, sometimes even the prettiest polishes can't save you from little nail accidents or bubbles. NSAT was still very fun to play with and I plan to wear it soon with some other base colors too. Maybe then I can show it too without any bubbles or breakages too... By the way, if you are wondering about the name of the polish, this is part of WellNails How I Met Your Mother collection, so the name comes from the series. You can buy this and other WellNails handmade polishes here.

WellNails Christmassy Winter Wonderland

Today I have something special for you guys, an Indie polish from a new Danish indie polish brand called WellNails. The lovely Charlotte sent two of her pretty creations for me to review and swatch and today I have the first one for you. But first I really have to say that I'm so glad that there are some indie polish makers here in Europe too, now even we European ladies can get these pretty hand made creations more easily.

This one is called Christmassy Winter Wonderland and although the name is Chritmassy I think this very suitable for the freezing cold weather that we usually have in January and February here in Eastern Finland. I really liked the fact that this has so various sized and shaped glitter, it really makes the polish interesting. Also the shimmering base is really nice and although I'm not usually the biggest fan of blue polishes, the shimmer and the glitter in this makes even me to want to wear this. And I really liked the formula too, it was easy to work with and the polish needed only two coats to look good and the brush was really nice too. So really, I have nothing bad to say about this one, I really loved everything about it!

You can get this and other WellNails polishes from their webstore. If you are a HIMYM fan like myself, you're probably very delighted to see that Charlotte has named several of her polishes after the tv show.
