Crumpets Nail Tarts 33 Day Challenge Round up.

Hi guys, I've decided that my replacement feature for Fragrance Direct Friday will be starting tomorrow instead of today. I've not had the time to get everything ready just yet, and after waking up at 4am this morning, I don't have the energy to get it all finished this afternoon.  I figured it could be a Sunday feature instead.  Hope you guys are okay with that.

Today, however, I will be posting a round up of the 33 Day challenge that ended yesterday.  I was pretty nervous about this, as I'd only been blogging for under a month when it started, but I figured what the hell, I'll give it a shot.  I'm glad I did, as I managed to do every prompt on the correct day, and I have created some nail art that I would never have tried otherwise. I was really proud of a few of these mani's, they turned out way better than I had hoped.  I have a bucket-load more confidence in my own abilities than I did when I started.  So, a massive thank you to Debbie from The Crumpet for letting me be a part of this, and more importantly, making it happen in the first place.

So without further ado, here they are.  Click on the link below the picture to go to the original blog post.(opens in new window)

The one thing I can't help but notice as I scroll through these pictures is how short my nails used to be, and how much stronger and longer they have become.  A few months ago, I couldn't grow any length without them snapping off, but now, I have 3 or 4 mm of tip length.  Unfortunately, my right hand has not been getting quite the same amount of love, and they're still quite short!  I'm working on it though, so when the right hand has caught up, I will put together a post about the improvement in my nails, and what products/routines have been working so well for me : )

#33DC - Day 33 - Freestyle/recreate someone's mani

Hi guys, I'm back again for the last day of the 33 day challenge.  This has been a lot of fun, and I'm so sad that it's finished.  The prompt for today is freestyle or recreate someone else's mani.  After spending about an hour on the pinterest board yesterday, I realised there was no way I could choose just 1 to recreate, so I decided to take the freestyle option.  I had received a little package from A-England that morning, containing the stunning Briar Rose, so I had to use that in this mani.

I painted my nails with Briar Rose, laid my tape down when it was all dry, and painted over it with 1 coat of A-England - Jane Eyre.  I should use this polish more, it's so gorgeous, I just find when I do, I never want to put anything over it : )  I should apologise for the state of my photos today.  They looked good to my tired eyes last night, but by the time I looked again this morning, and realised they were not, I had already taken off the mani!  They're not too bad when they're small, but they get a little blurry when they're bigger.
Crappy photos aside, I wasn't exactly blown away by this mani to be honest. The components are all there, but for some reason it just didn't wow me.  I do like it, but I don't love it.  I guess you can't win them all!
I will be doing a round-up post for this challenge sometime soon.  Hopefully, I'll have it posted on Sunday if I have time.  I'm looking forward to seeing all 33 of them lined up, I'm so proud that I did every prompt on my very first challenge (can you tell :p)  I'll be back tomorrow, although I am yet to prep anything, so it will be whatever I can put together tonight.  Don't forget to check out the other ladies last mani's via the thumbnails below.

#33DC - Day 32 - shapes

Hi guys, I'm back for Day 32 of the #33DC, and I'm very sad that it's ending.  I may jump into a Christmas challenge after this though, so that will be cool.  The prompt for today is Shapes and I chose to go with this simple heart doodle design.

The base for this mani is 1 coat of Barry M - Gold Foil and 2 coats of Shimmer Polish - Candace.  Candace is a mix of gold and gold holo hex glitter, and fine black glitter.  When that was dry(ish) I quickly free handed the hearts with black acrylic paint, and top coated.
Although this was a very simple mani, I liked wearing it a lot.  I think with a stunning glitter base like this, it's best to keep your design simple.  You don't want it to look too busy, after all, the glitter is the star of the show!
What do you guys think? Do you like this mani, or do you think it's a little too simple?
Don't forget to check out what shapes the other Nail Tarts have done for this prompt, via the thumbnails below.

#33DC - Day 31 - art with your 3 favourite polishes

Hey guys, I'm back today with Day 31 of the #33DC and the prompt for today is art with your 3 favourite polishes.  It was very hard to decide which 3 they would be, as I seem to change my favourites on a daily basis.  In the end, I chose 3 that were in my top 5, and have seen a lot of use.

Those 3 polishes were Kleancolor - Metallic Pink and Metallic Aqua, and A-England - Avalon.  I freehanded the pinwheel design with a nail art brush.  All 3 were really easy to work with too which helped this to go a little smoother.  The middles are not quite perfect, but I think I can get away with it.
I love this mani, I think the 3 colours play pretty well with each other, and I'm loving the pinwheel designs at the moment too.  I think I may have to invest in the MoYou festive plate that has this image on it.  I like painting them by hand, but it would be nice to have the choice when I'm pushed for time.
Please forgive the slightly sub-par quality of my photos today.  My camera was freaking out trying to capture these metallic colours, it was a right PITA : )  What do you guys think of this design?
Don't forget to check out what all the other gorgeous ladies have done for today's prompt through the thumbnails below.

#33DC - Day 30 - the same pattern in different colours

Hi guys!  I'm back today for Day 30 of the #33DC and the prompt for today is: the same pattern in different colours.  I decided to go with a vertical pastel rainbow gradient, and some silver stamping.  I love how subtle this turned out, even though I used 6 different base colours!

Those 6 polishes were Rimmel Lycra Pro - Cocktail Passion (creamy coral), Revlon - Cupid (pink), La Femme - Lilac Cream, La Femme - Ice Blue Cream, Barry M - Blueberry Ice Cream (light blue), and Headline Colours - Poolside Party.  I also added a coat of Barry M - Pink Iridescent Glitter for a little bit of sparkle
The coral side on the thumb was a lot less orangey in real life than it looks here, but I couldn't fix it without messing up the rest of the colours so I just had to leave it  : (
This image is from Bundle Monster plate BM-022, from the revised edition of their first set of plates.  I was lucky enough to win this set from Bundle Monster's Fall Into giveaway recently, and this is the first image I have tried from it.  As you can see, it stamped brilliantly, I am looking forward to trying some more from this set, there are some very pretty images in there! : D  I actually had a really lucky streak a few weeks back, and won these plates, a Organic Surge face mask, a mini from Indy's Indies, and a set of 3 minis from Polish Yer Hooves (swatches coming at some point)  Thank you to everyone that hosted the giveaways, I am very grateful.  I did end up playing a couple of scratchcards that week too, but I guess that was just pushing it XD
