Nail-Art-A-Go-Go - Day 6 - Neon

Hi guys, and welcome to Day 6 of the NAGG challenge.  The prompt for today is neon, which gave me a chance to do an idea I've had in my head for a while now - a tape mani starring Indy's Indies - Rocket :D

I started with a base of Sinful - Snow Me White, and added 1 coat of Rocket on the index and pinky finger.  The tape mani was filled in with BYS - Pink Panic, Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Brisk Blue, and Maybelline Colour Show - Green Zing.  The green was a bit of a pig to work with to be honest, even over a white base, it still took 3 coats to get the colour anywhere near even.  That alone, wouldn't have been too bad, but when I top coated the ring finger the green bled all over the place.  I gave the other ones at least an hours drying time before top coating them, but it still bled, just not quite as much.  Luckily, I only paid 60p for it from Fragrance Direct, so I'm more disappointed about ruining this mani, than wasting my money!
By the time I had finished this mani, I was kind of annoyed with it, and couldn't be bothered to clean up properly, so please forgive the green stuck to the side of my middle finger - I promise it's polish, not a bogey XD  I still think it's a pretty cool mani though, so I decided to stick with it for today.

All issues aside, what do you guys think of this mani?  Has it brightened your day with it's neon-ey goodness?  Doesn't rocket look awesome over white!?
Don't forget to check out the other neon mani's in the thumbnails below :)

Indy's Indies - Rocket

Hi guys, today I have another gorgeous polish from Indy's Indies to share with you.  This is Rocket, and was a polish Danielle released for Bonfire night, but I think you could wear this all year round.  Rocket is a mix of neon blue, red, pink and green hexes, squares, slices and stars.  Unfortunately, this is no longer available in her etsy store, but if you pop over to her facebook page, you will see a white based version that she is considering making a regular.  I hope she does, it looks gorgeous : )

This is 1 coat plus a little extra dabbing here and there over 1 coat of Kleancolor Metallic Sapphire and 2 coats of top coat.  I did push a few of the glitters around a bit to get a nice even coverage with the larger shapes, but no more than any other chunky glitter.
I really liked this combo.  This polish is very fun, and I think the blue base is just the right balance of dark and vivid to make the colours pop without overpowering it.  Personally, I always favour a dark base, but using black all the time can get boring after a while!

What do you guys think of this polish, do you like it? If you had a look at the white version, what do you think of that? I love it a 1 coat personally : )
Don't forget, you can find Indy's Indies on Etsy here and on Facebook here.

#33DC - Day 28 - Lines

Hi guys, sorry today's post is a little bit late, but I'm back with Day 28 of the #33DC and the prompt for today is lines.  This is another mani I have had planned out in my head for ages, but when it came time to actually sit down and do it, I had a different idea that I liked more.

For the thumb, pointer and pinky nails, I applied 2 coats of Nails Inc - New York Noir, then 1 thick coat of Pocket Money Polishes - I Want Candy, concentrating mostly on just 1 side of the nail.  Once that had some drying time, I used some black acrylic paint to create straight edges on either side of the glitter and top coated.
For the middle and ring finger, I painted a white base, and picked out polishes from my stash to match the colours in the glitter.  These were: BYS - Pink Panic, Barry M - Yellow Green, Rimmel I ♥ Lasting Finish - Sunshine, Rimmel I ♥ Lasting Finish - Double Decker Red, and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Brisk Blue.  Using a striping brush, I filled in the whole nail with random stripes in these colours, top coated, and waited for them to dry.  When they were dry, I applied striping tape in random places across the nail, and painted 1 thick coat of New York Noir over the top.  I kind of messed up on the ring finger and forgot what order I put the tape down in, but never mind : )
I loved this mani, and I'm really glad I decided to change my mind at the last minute as I like this more than my original idea.  It did bug me a bit that I forgot to go in and wrap my tips with black after pulling the tape up though.

UK Indie Month - Pocket Money Polishes - I Want Candy

Hi guys and girls.  I'm back today with another gorgeous UK Indie Polish to show you.  This is I Want Candy by Pocket Money Polishes.  This a vibrant mix of big green squares, smaller pink squares, blue and yellow hexes, smaller red hexes, and tiny green specks.  I love the colours in this polish, they just work so beautifully together, and the overall effect is just so smile-inducing!

I couldn't decide whether to swatch this over black or white, so I decided to do a bit of both!  I'm pretty sure this is 1 coat of I Want Candy, but as you can probably tell from how short my nails are, I swatched this a week or 2 ago, and can't be 100% sure.
This was my first purchase from PMP, and I am really impressed.  The formula on this was lovely, I had no problems at all getting the glitter to cover nicely.  I also bought a second polish from Charlie called Can't Buy Me Love which is gorgeous.  Hopefully, I'll have swatches of that posted soon.
Charlie also has a blog by the same name here where she blogs about nail art and polish.  And just in case you missed it, her Glitter Babies can be bought here.
What do you guys think, are you loving this bottle of happy neon goodness as much as I am?

UK Indie Month - Quirk - Peace is Free

Hiya guys and girls!  I'm back with another gorgeous UK Indie polish to show you today.  This is the beautiful Peace is Free by Quirk.  It's a mix of big and even bigger neon blue hexes, small translucent purple hexes, and larger purple matte hexes.  This is from Quirk's first collection called Boom Boom, which are all named after Black Stone Cherry songs.  Massive win for me, as I love Black Stone Cherry!  They are 4 different neon glitter toppers in the collection, and there are still a couple of each left on Sally Magpies if you want one.  Did I mention they glow under UV light?

For this swatch, I decided to layer it over a gradient of BYS - Pink Panic, and Sally Hansen CSM - Lavender Cloud. This is 1 coat, with a little bit of dabbing and pushing to get a good coverage.  In my experience, all of the neon glitters I have tried (especially the larger ones) like to stick together sometimes.  I don't really mind that though, as it means I always get a good amount on each nail, and it was a breeze to get these ones where I wanted them.
To be honest I think I may even prefer it - I like to have some control over the placement!
All in all, this is a gorgeous polish, and I am really hoping there will still be a bottle of Boom Boom left when I've recovered from my recent splurges!  What do you guys think of this polish, do you like it?  Have any of the others yourself?

Lime Crime: Pastelchio

Hello everyone!

This is Lime Crime: Pastelchio. It's a pastel neon lime colored cream nail polish, that dries matte. This first picture is with Seche Vite, but the two next show what it really looks like. The rest are with top coat. The bottle came in a cute box. On the underside of the box you'll find the ingredients list, and it also says that it's vegan and cruelty free! :-) I love Lime Crime's slogan on Harlow & Co's web site:

"COLOR IS NOT A CRIME. IT'S A WAY OF LIFE."

Pastelchio was the undies for my Tiger Nails.

This nail polish can be bought online. Lime Crime can only ship their nail polish to the Continental US, but Harlow & Co ships to many countries.

I bought this bottle on eBay and had to wear it right away. Now I wish I had bought a few more... Do you have any suggestions?

Crumpet's Nail Tarts 33day Challenge: Day 1 - Dots

Hi everyone.  Here we are, first ever challenge post : D  The prompt for today is dots, and this design came about because I have been perving over Lush Lacquer - Clowning Around for months now.  So I decided to use the colours of the glitter in that polish for a random dotticure.

A couple of weeks ago, I picked up a little bundle of solvent resistant glitter shapes off of ebay, and these adorable neon pink butterflies, and neon green stars were some of them, so of course I had to integrate a few of them into this mani.

I loved wearing this mani so much.  It was raining pretty badly while I painted these, and they just cheered me up.  It was like wearing a little slice of summer on my nails.  I don't know about you guys, but I refuse to abandon my neon's when the weather gets horrible, just as I wear dark vampy colours all year round.  I don't see why the weather should make me like different things!

I used quite a few different polishes for this mani, as you can imagine, so instead of just listing them all, I've got a bottle shot for you instead.
I also used my NYC Matte Me Crazy Matte top coat over the Seche Vite once it was dried.

Purple Professional - Sugar Summer 2013 - Complete Swatches and review [Heavy Pic]

About the collection

This is a textured new collection by the Portuguese brand Purple Professional. The collection is composed of 6 sugary polishes in summer shades. The collection is allusive to summer time and vacation symbols.  In all the polishes the brush is typically a Purple Professional brush. Long, wide and smooth. I applied 2 coats in every shade except strawberry, where I applied 3 thin coats.  All the formulas have a sugar/granular texture and their formula is very workable. All of them cover the nail with the fist coat but due to the texture it is necessary a 2nd coat to make the finish even. All of them have a great formula, not too thick nor too thin. On Fire is the one with the thicker formula and Strawberry the one with the thinner formula, nontheless all of them apply great, as you can see by the pictures. Without top coat they all dry in less than 5 mins except strawberry that took the 5 mins sharp, due to the extra coat. After stamping and with ONE coat of a glossy top coat they all became way smoother, even tho it was still noticeable that they were textured. The drying time with tc will depend on the top coat used.

My favorite shades from this collection are Under Water and Strawberry, and yours?
Os meus preferidos desta colecção são o Under Water e o Strawberry! E os vossos?

Stamping over the texture was very easy. The stamping polish used was MASH Black.
A estampagem sobre a textura dos vernizes foi feita com facilidade usando o verniz MASH Black.
